The Story

 

"Caps" My Dad | The Heart Behind The Hat

The journey to building this company began in the midst of a heavy season, with a yearning to trade sadness for joy. Believing that even in the darkest seasons, there is always an option to trade our ashes for beauty.

How do we mourn what is still right in front of us?

My father was diagnosed with Alzheimer's a few years ago and while he is physically with us he is not. Wrestling with this feeling of loss yet still having time with him has been a challenge for all of us. Wanting so badly to DO something when there is not much you can do.

Processing that opened opportunity for me to collect other moments of heaviness in life and trade them for joy. Becoming foster parents in 2018 opened our home to 4 long term placements and 12 children over 5 years. Those years were a mix of heartbreak and fulfillment. Early 2023 we made the difficult decision to close our home. Again I found myself mourning the loss of the ability to serve in a way that felt impactful. God is teaching me there are many ways to support without being the physical hands and feet of Jesus.

So the decision to create an avenue for change was made. Happy Caps Co. will be giving back to charity with every hat purchased. Alzheimer's foundation and foster care organizations are the focus of our donations. Thank you for being apart of the bigger story making meaningful impact in the lives of others.
